| Site Updates August 16th, 2006 I took a video of the "Ice Cream Concert" field show performance - I know that everyone wants to see what's going on out there! The video is also a great learning tool to figure out what corrections you could make on your own. Click here to go straight to it. August 4th, 2006 The soundtrack for last year's show - Five - is now up! For those not familiar, Five was done on the fifth year since the Marching Griffins' inception... and so the whole show was focused on that number. Each movement was from the fifth symphony of a famous composer, and the five elements of Chinese philosophy were each featured in the show (there is also a system of five elements in Japanese and Wiccan philosophy). This is why the graphic for Five on this site features Chinese characters. Remember, you can also watch a video of the show in the videos section! July 28th, 2006 First of all, there is a new poll - this one's about the website so make sure you voice you're opinion! Anyway, you will soon start to see new content up on the site - starting with the last year's soundtrack (Five). I am also going to maybe, possibly be uploading some videos from older shows - Uneven (2002) especially (because it's so darn interesting!) April 20th, 2006 Another new poll is up! April 10th, 2006 A new poll is up. March 11th, 2006 This site hasn't been updated in quite a while... sorry about that! I've decided to not post the BOA prelims video because I think one video per season is enough, and I believe that video should be ISU. If you would like to purchase the DVD of the BOA video, please get in contact with Mr. Video Productions. The soundtrack for Five will not be up until the soundtrack CD is released. Also forgot to mention - new poll! And finally... Yes, this is still Gary, who is not dead indeed. November 5th, 2005 Additional update: The videos are now posted in Windows and Mac formats. O boy! There's a new poll. Regarding the topic of the poll... if you're not sure how to download the file, please see the FAQs. I've added a new question at the top regarding exactly how to download files. October 26th, 2005 Express yourself! Foxmeister now has a weekly poll, which is on the right side of this page. If you don't see it, scroll down. October 23rd, 2005 Additional update: The FAQ Section has been updated with additional questions/answers regarding how to download audio files, and the flags in the top-righthand corner. I've posted the soundtrack to Uneven (2002). So... at last, all the soundtracks available are posted! Uneven, the field show for the year 2002, was definitely a unique show. The shako plums were substituted with 3-foot-long pieces of styrofoam, the guard had large poles, with giant tennis balls tethered to the end of the poles with a rope. There was also a techno section in the middle of the show. During this time, the entire hornline put their instruments on the ground, and proceeded to dance, while occasionally shouting in unison. So, yes, Uneven was certainly an interesting show, and, in my opinion, a very fun one for both the performers and the audience. October 20th, 2005 In addition to soundtracks, this site now hosts performance videos as well! You will find the 2005 ISU Finals video in the videos section. More videos will be posted as they become available. October 11th, 2005 I've uploaded last year's soundtrack - Stained Glass. Musically, it was based off of Ottorino Respighi's Church Windows. Visually, each part of the show represented a different color of stained glass. At the end of the show, all of the colors came together, creating a giant stained glass window, made of large clothes pulled out by the guard simultaneously, on the field October 6th, 2005 In the spirit of doing things out of order, I've posted the soundtrack from 2003 - A Thousand Words. This show included four movements, and while each one played during the show, sound bytes were played through a large speaker in the pit. The sound bytes consisted of people reading letters, or sometimes even internet chat, in order to tell a story. These sound bytes are not in the soundtrack. This is also the first season with Mr. Smith, Mr. Johnson, and Mr. Teare. October 2nd, 2005 This site now exists! The most popularly requested soundtrack, Genesis, is the first to be posted (you may find it in the download section). Genesis was the Marching Griffins' first-ever field show/season, and is based on the soundtrack of the Oscar-nominated film The Wind and the Lion. | ![]()
